The 104th Bicycle Tour de France in July races through 12 wine regions! Sommelier Dieter Schafer lived in France for six years and visits French wine areas and Paris wine bars annually. Join him as your guide and taste wines along the route from Savoie, Jura, Bourgogne, Beaujolais, Provence, Rhône, Languedoc, Roussillon, Sud-Ouest, Bergerac, Bordeaux, and finally to Champagne. Class includes “A Crush Course in Effective Wine Tasting,” lots of wine vocabulary to help you describe what you see and smell and taste, and a bit of history and geography of the regions, as you compare the French grape varieties to the grapes grown in Washington and the wines produced here. Tasting each session.
